Best Finance & Credit Apps

Its been a while since our last blog, but I wanted to go over some of the best finance and credit apps available. There may be more and better ones but I can only tell you about my experience and the apps I've tried.

Lets start with the most basic that I think everyone should have and that's CREDITKARMA.

Is a Personal finance company and according to its Google business profile Credit Karma is an American multinational personal finance company founded in 2007, which has been a brand of Intuit since December 2020.

With credit karma you can check you VantageScore (which is different from your FICOScore), from Transunion and Equifax. The accuracy depends on what Transunion and Equifax reports to CreditKarma.

CreditKarma Alerts also helps keep you up to date if something on your report has changed, been added, or deleted. I would say that Credit Karma is an invaluable tool to have in your virtual wallet (AKA your phone).

Credit Sesame is a credit and loan company. Credit Sesame was launched in private beta at TechCrunchDisrupt 2010. By 2012, the company claimed to monitor almost $35 billion in loans. Just like Credit Karma, Credit sesame provides you with free credit monitoring for your Transunion credit report. Why would you want two apps that provide you with scores from Transunion? Well the scores are different scoring models. Credit Sesame and Credit Karma both provide Vantage scores but different vantage score models. So you may see two different Transunion scores when you look at both apps. Keep in mind that different lenders, insurance providers, employers, and credit card companies use all different models of both FICO Score and Vantage Score. Its very important to know what your whole financial and credit situation is so I swear by both Credit Sesame and Credit Karma as a free way to keep an eye on your score and reports, also sometimes you may get an alert up to 1 week before the other app or vise versa in regards to changes to your credit report and its always important to know what changed and exactly when.

Now as you have noticed Credit Karma and Credit Sesame are both missing an important score, the Experian score. You can get your FREE Experian score and report by downloading the Experian App by clicking on this link . This I would say is the most accurate from any app you can get about a score or report, because its not relying on third party platforms to send any information out, sort of like getting it from the horses mouth, as my grandma would say. Now this Experian report and score uses a different score then the vantage score, it uses the FICO Score that we spoke about briefly above. Most and when I say most I mean most lenders use your FICO Score. What's neat about the Experian app besides it not using a third party platform is that your getting all the info real time as straight from Experian. Also Experian offers something called Experian Boost now you don't need to have the app to use Experian Boost but its helpful and very convenient. Experian boost is pretty much a method of boosting your credit score with Experian instantly by login in to your bank via the Experian App or website and letting Experian scan your transactions to see what monthly payments you make every month and they will report those payments as "Self Reported" accounts and instantly add points to your scores.

These are must have financial and credit apps. If you don't have them download them they are available in the App store for apple devices and GooglePlay store for android devices.

If you are serious about maintaining control of your credit get these apps.
